economy in a sporty looking package. Built by Chrysler for its North American Dodge brand, the car was designed to continue the Dodge Charger line, and take the place the Dodge Intrepid as a full-size sedan. .
. The Charger R/T's horsepower is out powered only by the 372-horsepower Challenger R/T. This engine is equipped with Dodge's Multi-Displacement System (MDS), which can stop four cylinders during highway cruising and light acceleration for better fuel economy. Despite the increase in power, the R/T the fuel economy is better. . There are six trims: Base RWD, R/T AWD, R/T RWD, SRT8 , SXT AWD, SXT RWD.
. Despite having 12 fewer horses under your right foot, the Charger SE won`t be any easier on fuel, matching last years ratings of 18/26 city/highway. The 5.7-litre V8 is very quick but got only 17 mpg overall, despite shutting off four cylinders when cruising. Both engines use regular fuel.
. The R/T and SXT come with a five-speed automatic gearbox, while the SE has four-speed automatic. The brakes are very good and can the Dodge in very short distances. Low- and high-beam headlights reach a good distance.
Curtain-style head-protection air bags are standard on the Charger starting with the 2010`s model. They supplement required front air bags and three-point seatbelts in all seating positions. Adjustable pedals are available either as part of a package or with certain trims making it easier for drivers to find a comfortable seating position while maintaining a safe distance from the steering wheel. The front seatbelts have adjustable upper anchors for getting a more comfortable and safer shoulder belt fit as well as pretensioners to reduce belt slack in the event of a crash.
