Aston Martin DBS 2007 - Present
The Aston Martin DBS is a grand tourer car launched by the British sport car manufacturer Aston Martin Lagonda Limited in the late 1967. It was said that will be the successor of the DB6, but the two of them were kind of competitors for three years. It was used in the 1969 James Bond movie “On her Majesty’s Secret Service”. It was a modern looking coupe with 4 full size seats powered by a 4.0 liter engine that generates 282 hp. In 2007 was launched a new version of the DBS build on the VH platform and that shares many components with the DB9 model.
The 2010 Aston Martin DBS has a unique form, unmistakable among all sport luxurious cars, with flowing curves, complex surfaces and unrivalled sculptural beauty. Of course, like the other Aston Martins, the DBS is not meant to take the breath of the folks who see it, but more likely to admire the beautiful shape with a respect for art. The two door coupe body style can sit only 2 people, and it is composed by aluminum, magnesium alloy and carbon fiber. It is featuring halogen projector headlamps, rear LED lamps and huge 20 inch alloy 10 spoke wheels
Under the hood beats the hearth of the 2010 Aston Martin DBS, a hand built 6.0 liter V12 engine that is capable to produce 510 hp (60 more than the DB9) and a maximum 420 lb-ft of torque, a generous power, but there are other exotic cars that put more accent on engine performance, in today’s rush for power output. Even though, the accelerations is very good, accelerating from zero to sixty mph in a little over 4 seconds and gets to a maximum speed of 191 mph. The power travels to the wheels through a six speed manual transmission as standard or a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters as optional for the rear drive BDS.
The around driver designed interior is providing handy use controls, the beautiful leather seats are very comfortable. I said that the car is a 2-seater, but theoretically there are rear seats as well just that they are not capable of storing someone on them because of the lack of leg room, that is not enough not even for children. There are no complains about the features that can be found inside the Aston Martin DBS, it was even called “perplexing” in an auto review. The features include a multimedia controller that controls everything from the navigation system to car stereo and CD, electrically adjustable seats with memory, heated seats, trip computer, and navigation system with hard disc drive, Bluetooth® connection, iPod connection and a premium sound system.
The Aston Martin BDS was not tested either by the government or other insurance institutes, but it is said to be a very safe car due to its safety features included such as dynamic stability control, anti lock brakes, electronic brake force distribution, traction control, tire pressure monitoring system and rear parking sensors with all the airbags possible, front and front side airbags and front and rear curtain airbags.
Same as for the Aston Martin BD9, I think that if you have enough money to spare for a sport luxurious car, this car should be on your buy list.
