The GMC Acadia is a full-size crossover SUV built by General Motors. In the US, Acadia hit the showrooms in December 2006, while in Canada in January 2007. It was launched as the first GMC front wheel drive passenger car and first crossover SUV, also the first unibody vehicle. It is the replacement of the GMC Envoy and the GMC Safari and was built on the GM Lambda platform.

The 2010 GMC Acadia comes with the same muscular body style that is already familiar from the 2009 model. Besides its muscularity and massiveness it is also very stylish, attractive and eye catchy. The 5 door SUV has one of the prettiest designs from the latest launched models in the class. On the exterior we can find HID headlamps, dual exhaust with chrome tips, 18 inch wheels as standard and 19 inch or 20 inch as available. Its massiveness is described in the dimensions, 200.7 inches length, 78 inches width, 69.90 inches in height and a wheelbase of 118.90 inches. Since it's so big, it can gather 7 or 8 people inside.

The 2010 GMC Acadia is featuring under the hood, a 3.6 liter V6 engine that produces 288 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. It is the only engine available, so it has to be good, even if it doesn't provide incredible power at least has a good fuel economy that no one complained about. The acceleration is quite good, achieving the 60 mph in about 7.9 seconds. EPA estimated the fuel economy for the front wheel drive at 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, and for the all wheel drive available at 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.

The interior is good, offering a lot of space for 7 or 8 people having the third row of seats very comfortable for adults, even if it is not so luxurious as other competitors as Buick Enclave. The interior is featuring a lot of entertainment functions as well as comfort equipment as heated driver and front-passenger seats, Bluetooth connectivity for phone, XM radio®2 and XM navtrafficTM3 with 3-month trial, am/fm stereo with mp3-compatible CD player, audio system with USB port, available ultrasonic rear parking assist, available rearview backup camera system, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, remote start, technology package with head-up display available touch-screen DVD navigation system and available Bose® advanced 10-speaker sound system.

Well rated in the safety tests, the GMC Acadia is one safety pick as far as we are concerned. The top score of five stars was awarded from behalf of the federal government for the protection of all seating positions in frontal and side impact. For the rollover tests, it received four stars, meaning that there are 15-16% chances for rollover in a single crash. The Insurance Institute for highway safety also rated the Acadia with a top score of "Good" in all the safety crash tests, frontal side and rear. The safety features included on the 2010 GMC are frontal and side airbags as well as head curtain side airbags for all the three rows of seats, anti lock braking system, OnStar emergency system implemented by GM and Stabilitrak stability control system with traction control.
