The 599 GTB Fiorano, is a grand turismo manufactured by the Italian company Ferrari, since 2006, replacing the 575 M Maranello, and was sold as a 2007 model year car. The name of the car comes from the engines displacement (5999 cc), Grand Turismo Berlinetta (GTB) and Ferrari's Friorano test track.

Styling of the car was made at the renowned design company Pininfarina, in collaboration with Ferrari's styling director at that time Frank Stephenson, the result was a "jaw-dropping" exotic super car. Cars.com notes that "The long hood and short rear deck call to mind the 1971 Ferrari 365 GTC4 - called the Daytona by many. With its sweeping curves, air ducts galore and round tail lamps, it's likely one would identify the 599 GTB Fiorano as a Ferrari even without the chrome prancing horse on the hood. It is unfortunate, however, that the headlights bring to mind the narrow, long design that Infiniti has been using for some years." Also for the appearance Ferrari offers 24 color choices, among those there are four choices of red and three of black.

Under the hood we find the massive 6.0 liter V12 engine, mounted longitudinally, that is able to produce a tremendous 611 horsepower at 7600 rpm and a head twisting 448 lb-ft at 5600 rpm. All that power and torque is delivered to the rear wheels trough either a traditional six speed manual or through Ferrari's six speed automatic called "F1 SuperFast", that can shift gears in as low as 60 milliseconds, but is as fast as VW's DSG (Direct Shift Gerbox) that shifts up in 8 milliseconds, the DSG is also mounted on Audi cars, but is called S Tronic.

As for the performances and as you may presume, the Ferrari 599 GTB is a damn fast car. The acceleration form zero to 60 miles per hour is done in only 3.7 seconds, 0-100 mph in 7.4 seconds and 0-160 mph in 19 flat seconds. If you by such a car it means that you are not that interested in the fuel economy, but you should know the 2010 Ferrari 599 GTB will return about 11 miles per gallon in the city and 15 miles per gallon on highway.

If you want your 599 GTB to be sportier, you can get a HGTE (Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione) upgrade, that includes modifications like: stiffer springs, rear anti roll bar, a more sportier calibration of the magneto-rheological shock absorbers, optimized tyres with improved grip, lowered ride height, thus lower center of gravity, faster shifting gearbox, more responsive acceleration response, modified exhaust that produces a more thrilling sound, some more carbon fiber inserts on the inside and outside an 20" wheels. This option will add up $30,095, to the $302,000 base price of the car.

For the luxurious interior of the 599 GTB you can chose from 12 different color trim. The seats are well contoured and offered an excellent support in the tight corners, and they also offer a good driving position with enough space for head and legs. Among the equipments there are: Front leather heated 12-way power seats with driver seat memory, leather trimmed power tilt and telescope steering wheel with starter button, manettino instrumentation that includes tachometer, oil pressure, engine temperature, trip odometer , ambient temp gauge and low tire pressure warning, automatic climate control with two zones, carbon fiber trim, leather headliner and more.

Neither the federal government or the insurance industry or any safety assessment program in the world has tested the Ferrari 599 GTB for crash protection. The soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has "crash tested" the 599 GTB in a barrier from a tunnel, he pretty much totaled the car, but survived to play another game, thanks to the load of safety features offered by Ferrari for the 599 GTB, like: four wheel ABS with BD, F1-Trac traction and stability control, side impact beams, front and front-side airbags and three point safety bets with pretensioners.
